Finishing Strong

On Monday, February 5 the SHS boys swimming and diving team competed in their final meet of the season against Providence and Trinity Lutheran High school. The SHS boys finished their season 12 to 3. Winning their final meet.

Both Providence and Trinity have noticeably smaller teams than SHS. Providence having 21 members and Trinity only having one member on their boys teams.

This meet however, is different from the others because of the events. The members of the SHS swim team are allowed to participate in events in which they would not normally swim, making the meet more fun. “These weren’t my normal events sadly, I normally do the 50 and the 100 because I am a sprinter, and my twin does the long distance events. So it was a good ole switcheroo,” stated Junior swimmer Dillon Polley.

Several SHS boys won events including: Luke Turner, Lee Freeman, Dalton Polley, Daniel Hartman, Harrison Cottrill, and Devin Ramsey.

The boy’s next step is sectionals. Preliminaries will take place on Thursday, February 15 and finals will be on Saturday, February 17.
