ENL es una instituida por el Sr. Wolka en la escuela secundaria de Seymour, es una clase para estudiantes que vienen de otros países donde el inglés no es su primer lenguaje . La clase ENL se imparte en el salon 123 es una clase con 72. Esta clase ayuda a los estudiantes a hablar, leer, y escribir bien usando  el inglés académico. Hay una clase avanzada, y la clase  intermedia dependiendo en que bien los estudiantes entiendan el inglés académico.

De acuerdo con el Sr. Wolka maestro de ENL.”En esta clase no es sólo hablar en inglés, sino que también escribir, escuchar y leer en inglés. Tengo estudiantes que no saben inglés, puedo tratar de hablar en español, sin embargo no sólo trabajamos con estudiantes que hablan el español tambien tengo algunos estudiantes japoneses y cuando trabajo con mis estudiantes japoneses hago muchas demostraciones, les muestro lo que quiero que hagan. Realmente disfruto el inglés y espero que mis estudiantes también lo disfruten.”

De acuerdo con Jennifer Cruz estudiante de ENL. “La clase de ENL es una de mis clases favoritas. Esta clase me ayuda mucho con el inglés. ENL es una clase donde me siento cómoda. Esta clase con el tiempo se está haciendo más fácil porque he tomado esta clase por tres años y me ha ayudado mucho con el inglés con el paso de estos años y entiendo más que el primer año. La clase ENL es una de mis clases favoritas. “

ENL es una clase que beneficia a los estudiantes que vienen de otros países o que vienen de intercambio y que no saben el idioma del inglés. Para pasar esta clase y no tomar la más, necesitas hacer un examen que involucra las cuatro herramientas que te enseñan en ENL escribir, hablar, leer, y escuchar, al pasar el examen quiere decir que ya tienes lo necesario y que ya has aprendido el idioma correctamente.

ENL class taught by Mr.Wolka at Seymour High School for students who do not have English as their first language. ENL takes place in room 123 with 72 students. This class helps the students to speak, read, and write well using academic English. There is an Advanced ENL, and the Medium ENL depending on how well the students understand academic English.

According to ENL teacher Mr.Wolka,”In this class we do not just talk in English, but also write, listen, and read in English. I have students that don’t know English. I can try to speak in Spanish, however, we don’t only work with Spanish speaking students. I have some Japanese students as well.  When I work with my Japanese students, I do a lot of demonstrations. I show them what I want them to do rather than tell them. I really enjoy English, and I hope my students enjoy it too.”

According to ENL student Jennifer Cruz, “ENL class is one of my favorite classes. This class help me a lot with English. ENL is a class where I feel comfortable. This class, over time, is getting easier because I have taken this class for three years. It helped a lot, and I understand more than the first year. ENL class is one of my favorite classes.”

ENL is a class that benefits students who come from other countries or who come from exchange and who do not know the language of English. To pass this class and not take it anymore, you need to do an exam that involves the four tools that teach you in ENL writing, speaking, reading, and listening. Passing the exam means that you already have the necessary skills and that you have reached a certain level of mastery with the language.
