On Friday, March 24, a body was discovered facedown in a creek on Burkhart Boulevard at 1:53 p.m. The body was identified to be Wayne R. Gribbons of North Vernon, according to the Seymour Police Department. 

The man who reported the body to the authorities said he had found the male unconscious, face down in the creek, where he proceeded to drag him out.

A forensic autopsy was performed Monday, March 27, on the body. The cause of death is pending the results of toxicology, which is not yet available.
