Seymour Soccer has had solid teams for many years, but this year is the start of something great.
Boys’ Soccer:
The last year the Boys’ team won the conference was the 2018-2019 season. They can’t win the conference this year, but they can still beat the #1 team in their Conference, the Floyd Central Highlanders. The Owls only have one more game before they play Floyd Central in the playoffs. On Thursday, 9/28, the Owls will play Bedford @ Seymour HS. They will also be honoring the seniors for senior night. Bedford will be tough, but let’s finish out the regular season with a win against Bedford. I think this team can win because they have a lot of talent, including seven seniors who know these teams very well, and a coach (Matt Dennis) who knows what he’s doing when it comes to the playoffs.
Lady Owls’ Soccer:
The Lady Owls last won the Hoosier Hills Conference in 2020-2021. This season is different from most. The Lady Owls have a lot of experienced seniors ready for the playoffs this season. The Lady Owls only have one more regular season game before the playoffs. They play @ Columbus East on 9/28. They will try to grab their first road win of the season in a game that could give them a lot of momentum before the playoffs. I believe that this team can overcome all expectations and win a few games in the playoffs. Let’s root for our Lady Owls.
