The Owls ended the regular season with a bang on Thursday night. They beat the Bedford Stars by a score of 6-1. It was a great night for the Owls on and off the pitch. Their seven seniors were recognized for all their hard work and dedication to this team. The seven seniors included Logan Westfall, Martin Sebastian, David Polbito, Jaret Dominguez, Felipe Sebastian, Jordan Ritter, and Cooper Murphy.
Now, let’s get to the action. The game started quickly with a long shot over the goalie’s head in the 2nd minute. Senior Martin Sebastian scored the first goal of the game and celebrated with the crowd and teammates.
In the 32nd minute, junior Myles Chandler had an opportunity and took advantage of it, shooting the ball into the goal for a 2-0 lead.
Four minutes after the last goal, the Owls were already back in the box. Myles Chandler crossed the ball to junior Kaden Cox, and after a bad read by the goalie, Cox had an easy shot on goal. It goes in! Only 36 minutes into the game the Owls were already up 3-0.
Everyone thought they were done scoring for the half, but the Owls thought differently. In the 39th minute, senior Logan Westfall scored to make the score 4-0 to end the first half.
After a huge halftime lead, the Owls held onto the ball for most of the 2nd half, until the 76th minute. Senior Martin Sebastian had another opportunity to score, and he took it. That goal advanced the lead to 5-1 with 4 minutes remaining.
And just when everyone thought the game was over, senior David Polbito had a great chance to score his first goal of the game. Polbito was not going to miss this shot. His score moved the lead to 6-1.
