December 1, 2017
The Jackson County Art Center is located at 2001 N Ewing St, Seymour, IN 47274. At the Art Center you can visit the gallery which includes paintings and sculpture, but they only last about a month. Although, there is a permanent gallery where there is some art that has meaning to Jackson County or has history. More people come when there is more creativity that are in the galleries. Memberships cost $25 per month. A membership includes newsletters and schedule of events.
Their is a small concert every Friday in the summer called Friday Night Live. There one will see some bands, who are small but very skilled. During this time, patrons also see the gallery and enjoy food. If one would like to know more about the Friday Night Live the Jackson County Art Center has a website with all the events to come. There are also events for younger children over the summer. It is a four week experience in June.
Bob Ban has been working at the art center for three years. He has experiences with so many people with artistic skills, but he would like to see more of the people in Seymour come enjoy the experience and see the gallery or be a part of the art show. Ban does the pay roll and accounting. The office is always open. There are also volunteer opportunities for those who would like to help. Most of the time there are fundraisers on Saturdays.
