Last week, the SHS Swimming Lady Owls brought home the Hoosier Hills Conference girls’ swimming and diving title, Seymour High School’s first in 22 years. Before 2024, Seymour won the HHC in 2001, 2002, 2003, and 1997.
The Lady Owls scored 302 points in total to win the title. Floyd Central scored 283 points in second place.
Highlights:
- Lauren Bode, Sydney Bush, Addy Castetter, and Lilly Simons swam the medley relay in 2:00.84
- Katelynn Woods, Kylie Grove, Lainey Reinhart, and Lilly Simons saw the 200 free in 1:47.69
- Second Placements: Maggie Calhoun (Diving), Katelynn Woods (100 Free), and Lauren Bode (100 Back)
- Third Placements: Lilly Simons (50 Free), Addy Castetter (100 Butterfly), and Sydney Bush (100 Breast)
- Fourth Placements: Sallie Nicholson (200 Free + 100 Free), Addy Castetter (200 Individual Medley), Katelynn Wood (50 Free), and Amber Ault (500 Free)
- Senior Spotlight: Gracie Adams placed 10th in the 100 Breast, and Kylie Grove placed 6th in the 200 free, 8th in the 100 fly, and third in the 400 free relay
All the girls on the team were excited to help win the HHC title.
