On January 31st, the Seymour Owls defeated the Floyd Central Highlanders by a final score of 44-28. This win took the Owls’ winning streak to eight games, bringing their record to 10-5 on the season.
Over the last eight games, the Owls have averaged 50.7 PPG while only allowing 33.8 PPG to their opponents. Coach Manns has proven that his defense can win games. His slow offense and nagging defense make the Owls a tough opponent for every team they play.
The Owls have improved mightily over the last eight games. Before the winning streak, the Owls averaged 44.7 PPG while allowing 46.2 PPG. They definitely had some struggles defensively at the start of the season, but they have left that in the past.
The Owls’ defense has proven to be their biggest strength this season, and Coach Manns has proven he can win with almost any team he has.
Sectionals start in less than a month, so let’s be ready to cheer on our Owls.
