Como en cualquier parte del mundo, México celebra la Navidad cargado de eventos religiosos para conmemorar el nacimiento de Dios. Pero, realmente, puede ser muy distinto a lo que se hace en Estados Unidos, puesto que en México parte de una serie de costumbres y tradiciones propias que hacen de su Navidad una fiesta muy especial y diferente para todo el que las vive por primera vez. Para ellos, aproximadamente 9 días antes de lo común, sobre el 16 de diciembre, comienzan las fiestas. Desde ese momento posadas, piñatas, cantos, reuniones y fiestas hacen entrañables estos días.

Aproximadamente sobre el 16 de diciembre comienzan las fiestas navideñas en México, celebrándose las posadas, en las que se representa todo el recorrido de María y José hacia belén para dar a luz al niño dios. Definen una posada a la que las personas se dirigen en peregrinación acompañado a José y a la Virgen María con velas y cantos, mientras pasan de posada a posada hasta llegar a la deseada.

Para comprender cómo se celebra la Navidad en México hay que tener en cuenta la fuerte tradición religiosa de la Navidad en México, la cual se celebra siempre alrededor del Niño. Aunque es posible ver el árbol de Navidad en los hogares mexicanos, lo que realmente celebran es el pesebre o nacimiento. Los adornos, velas, coronas, etc., son los verdaderos protagonistas de las fiestas.

El nacimiento o pesebre es tan importante en México que, de hecho, el día 24 las familias acuden juntas a la Misa que es por la noche y seguidamente vuelven a casa para recibir los regalos dejados por Santa Claus o los reyes magos al lado del nacimiento, diferencia importante con otros países donde los regalos se encuentran bajo el árbol de Navidad.

En México la navidad es más que nada religiosa y muy importante debido al nacimiento del niño Jesús. Esta es una tradición muy linda y importante en méxico.

As in any part of the world, Mexico celebrates Christmas loaded with religious events to commemorate the birth of God. But, really, it can be very different from what is done in the United States, since Mexico is part of a series of customs and traditions that make their Christmas a very special and different. For many, about 9 days before the ordinary, on December 16, the holidays begin. From that moment inns, piñatas, songs, meetings and parties  make these days endearing.

Around the 16th of December, the Christmas holidays begin in Mexico, where the inns are celebrated, in which the whole journey of Maria and Jose to Bethlehem is represented and the birth of the child.
