Why?

As I gaze up to the sky

I look at the stars and wonder, why?

Why is there so much hatred and pain?

After all, don’t we bleed the same?

I woke up this morning, only to hear the same old news

Shootings and drunken crashes are enough to give anyone the blues

You’d think that we’d learn

If only we’d try

Instead of just sitting here and wondering why?

I feel strongly about this

I hope you do too

So let’s end this, and start anew

End all the hatred

Discrimination too

After all, our future starts with me and you
