Seymour Pins Columbus North in Dual Meet

On Tuesday, January 7,  the Owls loaded the bus to battle in a dual meet at Columbus North High School. After a rocky start, the Owls were able to steadily increase their team score. The Owls only lost five matches throughout the night, two of which were forfeits. The matches went as follows:

160- Jake Rotert won by a pin

Making the team score 6-0

170- Hector Ruiz lost by a pin

Making the team score 6-6

182- Lalo Bustos lost by a pin

Making the team score 6-12

195- Brody Shipley won by a pin

Making the team score 12-12

220- Adan Mora lost by a pin 

Making the team score 12-18

HWT- Seymour took the forfeit

Making the team score 12-24

106- Ro Baltazar won by a pin

Making the team score 18-24

113- Noah Surface took the forfeit

Making the team score 24-24

120- Sammy Chandler took the forfeit

Making the team score 30-24

126- Sam Castetter won 16-2

Making the team score 34-24

132- Nate Banister won by pin 

Making the team score 40-24

138- Seymour lost by forfeit 

Making the team score 40-30

145- Ben Kriete won by tech fall 17-2

Making the team score 45-30

152- Jake Kriete won 12-0

Making the team score 49-30

Overall, it was a very successful night for the Owls. The final team score was 49-30 with the Owls taking the victory. At the end of the meet, the win was not the only reason for an Owls’ celebration. It was also Nate Banister’s birthday, and the team ended the night by singing “Happy Birthday.”
