Congratulations, Lady Owls, on your first sectional win of the 2022 IHSAA tournament. The Lady Owls defeated New Albany 59-47. They have not won the opening game of the sectional for the past nine years, but that changed last night.

Grace Schrader and Brooke Trinkle each scored 15 points, while Journee Brown and Kendall Sterling both netted 10.

Schrader had eight rebounds to help the owls to a 28-20 advantage.

Friday night at 5:30 the Lady Owls take on Jennings County who beat them earlier this season 70-42.

Schrader said, “We’ve got to be prepared to stop (Juliann) Woodard and not let (Kali) Thompson beat us. We can do it.”
