The Beatles, made of band members John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr, are known to be the greatest rock band of all time. But why? If you’ve heard songs by the Beatles, you would realize that they don’t sound very ‘rock and roll.’ So why are they known this way?

The band started in Liverpool in 1960. Rock and roll was newly introduced to England at the time, and the group used a blend of country music and rhythm and blues to produce their songs. Their first song even written, “Love Me Do,” became a number one hit in the United States. The Beatles grew from there, eventually becoming so famous to where ‘Beatlemania’ came over the United States and UK. Fans went wild for the fab four!

Though the band started over 60 years ago, people still enjoy their music and talk about the Beatles’ successes. The group helped establish modern rock as we know it today, which is why they’re known as the greatest band. They were one of the first bands to perform rock and become successful. Many groups and artists today credit the Beatles as inspiration for their music. The Beatles were one of the cornerstones of the rock and roll music industry.
