The varsity Owls are off to a very warm season at about the halfway point. 12-3 is a very respectable record for anyone.

The only three losses the Owls have seen were with two conference opponents in Jeffersonville and Bedford North Lawrence, while the third came at the hands of Columbus North. When they were in about seven games they were ranked eighth in the state on Maxpreps.

The expectations were set high because of last season’s 18-10 record. Head coach Jeremy Richey said, “Our expectations were very high for this season.” He also said that “this team has met expectations.”

Hitting and pitching has been really good for Seymour with most of the starting lineup hitting above .200. Pitching on the other hand, sees most pitchers have a 3.00 or under ERA.

If the Owls keep up this pace, this could lead to a conference win and/or a sectional title.
