Fear Fair

Fear Fair

Chloe Williams, Staff Writer

Fear Fair is a Haunted House in Freeman Field, in Seymour Indiana. Actors dress up in a variety of different scary characters. There are many different scenes in the attraction. They have a Halloween attraction as well as a Christmas attraction and some others throughout the rest of the year.

The cost to get into the house is $20 for general admission and $25 for fast pass. All of the work that they do at the haunt is done by volunteers. The actors have to be at least 17 to volunteer unless you have worked there in previous years when that rule did not apply. The actors and owners also make their own props and set it all up by themselves. Most of the money they make goes towards making the props and buying makeup and costumes.

The Halloween attraction consists of scenes like, The Plague, Maze, Voodoo, Swamp, Graveyard, Silent Hill, and Saw. There are many different actors and props in each scene. It starts the last weekend in September and it goes every weekend through October through Halloween. The haunt opens at 7 pm and closes at midnight.

The Christmas attraction is Krampus: A Haunted Christmas. It has a creepy Christmas lights, zombies, and elves. You can take your photo with Krampus himself. He puts cookies out to lure children into his sack. The legend of Krampus is a half goat, half demon. He goes around and punishes children that have misbehaved during the year. This event is in December. The price of the tickets is $24.99 a piece.

In February they have a Valentine’s Day event called Valentine X.  Last year was the first year for this event. It has horrifying Valentine- related characters and sets. It is February 10-11 from 7-11 pm.

In July they have a Zombie Apocalypse attraction. It is a live action, video game like zombie shooting experience. There are multiple people on one team. Together, they all try to shoot the zombies with laser tag. There are two different ticket options. The first, the Recruit Mission, costs $29.99 per ticket. The second option, the Special Ops mission, costs $39.99 a ticket.
