Heading into Fridays matchup against conference rival Columbus East, the Lady Owls hoisted a 15-2 record, going 6-0 in HHC conference games. The Owls would lockup an outright conference championship if they were able to walk out of Fridays game with a win.

Friday was also Senior Night for the Owls. Rachel Kaufman, Paige Kleber, and Emma Ramp were the seniors honored with their parents before the game. All three seniors were also in the starting lineup.

In the first inning, with Rachel on the mound, the Columbus East Olympians managed to score a run off three hits. But the Owls were able to bounce right back with five runs of their own in the bottom half of the inning.

In the bottom of the second inning, freshman Camryn Sterling doubled and later scored. Sophomore Stephanni Kleber did the same thing in the third inning giving the Owls a 7-1 lead after three innings.

The Owls scored three runs in the fourth, and another in the fifth, tallying up eleven total runs.

East added two more runs, but they weren’t enough as the Owls secured the victory by a score of 11-3. By doing so, they won the schools first ever HHC Conference Title.
