SHS’s Empowerment Club

SHSs+Empowerment+Club

On August 22, 2019 SHS will hold its first empowerment club meeting of the year during SRT in room 126. The leader of this club is Senior, Chloe Shepherd. She decided to create this club towards the end of the 2018-2019 school year because of her belief in being an activist.

The purpose of this club is to engage young men and women in activism and politics. The club also hopes to promote positive changes not only within SHS but within the community. It is a safe space to share thoughts and feelings, as well as creating new friendships. Anyone of any age or gender is welcome to attend these meetings, participate in activities, and help spread a positive aura!

Activities that are going to be done this year are things such as posters and messages written in chalk at the front of the school. Ideas are welcome as well!

These meetings will continue every last purple day of the school week during SRT in room 126. Hope to see some new faces!
