Seymour’s boys soccer team lost 2-1 to New Albany on a hot Thursday night.

The Bulldogs scored the game-winning goal in the final 10 minutes to improve to 5-2-3 on the season.

The two teams were locked at 0-0 until New Albany striker Mehari Milton scored with only 15.3 second remaining in the half. Milton received the ball with his chest, turned, and lashed a shot into the side netting.

The Owls worked hard throughout the second half to get an equalizer and, with 16 minutes left, junior Isaac Schafer did just that. After receiving a pass from senior Simon Akers, Schafer scored from a difficult angle by scooping the ball up and over New Albany goalkeeper Quincy Rainey.

The excitement was short-lived, however, as senior Bulldog Hayden Krebs took the lead back for New Albany only six minutes later. Krebs made a nice run through the Owls defense, and calmly slotted the ball past freshman keeper Will Smith and into the back of the net.

There was no JV game due to heat.
