Rained Out Shutout

It was a strange night for the Seymour Lady Owls, but they managed to pull off a 2-0 win against the Scottsburg Warriorettes. The game started out slow with few shots on either goal, but the Lady Owls picked up speed in the second twenty minutes.

The first goal was made by none other than senior Haley Westfall. A delayed reaction by the referee caused the crowd to erupt into cheers a few moments later than necessary. Minutes later, Westfall crossed a beautiful ball over to Eliza Cash who scored on the backside of the goal behind the keeper.

The game continued ten minutes into the second half before Scottsburg’s coach called for a lightning delay because there was a flash within ten miles of the soccer field. The game was delayed around 45 minutes before finally being canceled and counted as a win for the Lady Owls.
