Festival Foods: The Top Foods at The Oktoberfest

The writers of The Owl describe their favorite foods at the Oktoberfest this year
Festival Foods: The Top Foods at The Oktoberfest

Lucas Jablonski: Sweet Tea and Jesus- 5.25/5 stars

The sweet tea from Sweet Tea and Jesus was heavenly.  The largest draw for the drinks were the wide variety of flavors ranging from marshmallow to cherry. Being able to mix multiple flavors at once also added to the appeal.  My personal favorite was a mix of cherry and lemon.  I would recommend this delicious sweet tea to any Oktoberfest goers.

AnnMarie Shuler: The Pretzel Wagon- 4/5 stars

The pretzels were very good. The only problem was the cheese that was served with the pretzels were not that good. It just didn’t live up to the pretzels, which kinda ruined it a bit.

Landon Jones: Island Noodles-10/5 stars

I tried this new food that has shown up for this year and was happy with my choice. The stir fry noodles were cooked authenticity and with care. I’m not a big pepper fan but I didn’t mind due to its flavor.

Kelan Yates: Sirloin Tip Dinner- 5/5 stars

A usual choice for me and my family alike, this dish never seems to disappoint. A perfectly seared chopped steak covered with mashed potatoes, mushrooms and onions. The line is usually pretty lengthy as this is very popular. It may have been a little pricy, however it was a top tier food for me.

Norah Cambell: Pepperoni Rolls by First Baptist- 4.5/5 Stars

The pepperoni rolls by First Baptist this year at the Oktoberfest were excellent. They were filled with cheese and pepperonis surrounded by thick, soft dough balls. I would recommend these delicious mini pepperoni balls to anyone who would want to enjoy a gooey and flavorful appetizer.

Bethany Kriete: Pineapple whip- 5/5 stars

Pineapple whip is a soft-serve ice cream that is available at Super Twist during the Oktoberfest. The desert is enjoyable because it has a sweet and tangy taste which creates a nice contrast of flavor. I would recommend this to people who enjoy pineapple desserts but not in the cold, it just made me more cold.

Brady Terrell: Cinnamon Shack- 4.8/5 Stars

The Cinnamon Rolls were very soft and tasted great, and the frosting was warm and tasty. To go along with the cinnamon rolls, I ordered a Hot Chocolate. The only thing that makes this food 4.8 stars is because the Hot Chocolate burnt my tongue. I recommend getting Cinnamon Shack, but watch out for the Hot Chocolate.

Dayton Smith: Sausage Calzone- 3.5/5 Stars

I ordered a sausage calzone, which was very clearly cooked with lots of love and effort, and the sausage tasted great. The breading was a bit too crunchy however, which is what lowers the rating. The truck also provided a variety of soft drinks, which was helpful. To go with this, I ordered a pineapple whip cone, which was very sweet and tangy, but I wouldn’t recommend it in cold, windy weather.
