The New Hampshire primary, the second so far, is ongoing but has been called for both parties. Former president Donald Trump has succeeded once again in winning the republican vote with a 54% majority while current president Joe Biden won decisively with a 51% majority. Both Nikki Haley (republican) and Dean Phillips (democrat) have decided to continue their candidacies even while finishing second to the majority winners, but the odds seem in favor of Trump and Biden. As reported by Politico, the majority of Americans have decided that they do not want another Biden/Trump general election. This has been given more credence in recent months as Joe Biden’s approval rating has dropped to a dismal 34%, lower than any president since 1945. As well as this, a range of criminal cases have been brought against Donald Trump, giving more power to those that say his criminal convictions render him an inadequate candidate. This election will be the closest in recent memory, and may end up being a vote-for-vote repeat of the 2020 race. The vote will fall with the majority party, and this vitally important decision could change the political makeup of the country for the next four years.
