Owl of the Month

Owl of the Month is a great way for the teachers to show how much they appreciate and respect their students in school. Each month teachers choose a student who they feel deserves to be recognized for their hard work and achievement in their course. Only one teacher from each department can select an Owl of the Month.   “It’s exciting to be Owl of the Month especially being picked from 250 other band students,” says senior Chloe Bryden.

Being Owl of the Month recognizes that hard work students put in. When trying to be Owl of the Month, a student should have good grades, volunteer for any opportunities, and have a nice attitude with the teachers and the students around them. When a student has a smile and a great attitude, it gives off positive energy to others and might give them a smile too. “Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and feel free to be you.” says Junior Morgan Wheeler.

When a student is Owl of the Month, they get recognized on the daily announcements and have the feeling of accomplishment for their great attitude and good grades. Students also get Seymour Owl memorabilia and a certificate to commemorate this honor.
