It was a tough meet for the Owls Cross Country team Thursday night.  The stifling heat and the tough competition made for a challenging race for all of the runners at Freeman Field.  The boys team was up first, giving their best effort as they raced Jennings County and Brownstown among others.  Junior Jude Bane led the Owls with a time of 17:27 and a second place finish.  He was followed by senior Michael Proffer (18:32) and freshman Ty Tormoehlen (18:39).  The Lady Owls followed with a decisive 1st place victory.  Vivian Siefker led the team with a 1st place finish and a time of 21:03.  Hayley Harpe followed closely behind with a time of 21:04.  This race was a solid start to what will hopefully be a fantastic season for Owls Cross Country.  For a full schedule of meets and times visit seymourathletics.com.
