IHSAA overturns Seymour Baseball's walk-off win

Following the Seymour Owls’ opening day walk-off win against Silver Creek, the IHSAA has officially overturned the result of the game. Senior Sawyer Smith was originally awarded a walk-off hit, but after further review, it was deemed that Smith’s bat was loaded with an outrageous amount of cork.

Moments after Smith’swalk-off hit,” an IHSAA official in the crowd was struck by Sawyer Smith’s absurd bat flip that flew over the protective net. The official immediately knew by the feeling of the bat that there was something off, and after a lengthy review, it was deemed that Silver Creek had won the game due toillegal cork usageby the Owls.

The IHSAA official told The Owl, It’s truly unfortunate for a game to end like that, and he wished everyone a great April Fools Day.”
