Dr. Dixon, formerly Mrs. Dixon, is an Economics teacher at Seymour High School, as well as the leader of its DECA branch. Dr. Dixon achieved this milestone achievement at Middle Tennessee State University with a focus in Administration Leadership and School Improvement. 

She hopes that this will make her teaching infinitely better for her students and for herself. Dr. Dixon talks about a class she took that really opened up an area of improvement for her.

“I had a class on timely feedback, and they role modeled that through the program to me what I was doing, and it made me understand that was an area of growth for myself, for my students.” 

Her doctorate comes after her bachelor’s degree at Indiana Wesleyan University and a masters also at MTSU. Her bachelor’s is in Business Administration and her master’s in Business Education. One of Dr. Dixon’s favorite activities in life is to learn and stay educated, even saying that she could be a professional student for the rest of her life. 

Dr. Dixon would like to say that “education is a very valuable commodity, and it’s something you don’t ever lose. More women need to take that leap.”
