State Bound!
October 8, 2019
Senior Bridget Marshall is State Bound! After her SHS send-off where she walked the halls to cheering students, Bridget headed to Prairie View Golf Course in Carmel, Indiana for her practice round. She competed against the best girl golfers in the state. Shooting an 80 in the sectional match, she improved her score in the regional match by 4 strokes. She shot a 76 at last Saturday’s regional at Country Oaks Golf Course, giving her a spot in the state competition. She teed off Saturday morning at 8:30 am with three other girls golfing in her foursome. Bridget ended her high school golf career with a bang shooting a 177 two-day cumulative score! She was the top golfer in her foursome. We have had many great golfers and golf teams go to state in the past. We are very proud of how Bridget represented Seymour High School this past weekend! When being interviewed by The Tribune, Bridget said, “I finally reached my goal. Going back to my freshman year, I had some chances to get [here]. It’s a dream come true.” Even though the conditions were bad with changing weather, Bridget still managed to pull through and get a good score. Bridget told The Tribune that she’s had some communication with college coaches if she wants to pursue the opportunity to play golf at the next level.
