New Teacher Spotlight Week 2
December 10, 2019
This week, the New Teacher Spotlight is on Mr. Thomas and Mrs. Baugh!
Mr. Ronnie Thomas is a new Social Studies teacher from Fishers, Indiana. He has a fiance named Sarah. He attended Anderson University where he played football for 4 years and coached for 2 years. His hobbies include working out, watching horror movies, watching sports, and reading. Mr. Thomas was looking for an opportunity to teach and coach football when coming to SHS this year. Mr. Thomas looks forward to attending sporting events and musicals.
Mrs. Annie Baugh is a new math teacher and is originally from North Vernon, but has lived in Columbus the past 20 years. She has two daughters, Lauren, who is 21, and Kate, who is 16. She enjoys listening to music, going to concerts, playing tennis, watching sports, reading, and spending time with family and friends. Before coming to SHS, she taught at Columbus East High School. When we asked Mrs. Baugh what she is looking forward to this year, she said, “I’m looking forward to working with and building relationships with my fellow teachers as well as my students. The sense of community here at SHS is very easy to sense from the moment I was hired. I want to be a part of and contribute to that community.” We also asked Mrs. Baugh what opportunities she was looking forward to when she came to SHS and she said, “I am going to be rebooting the Academic Team here at SHS and I’m super excited about it.”
