Seymour Community Schools is launching a new preschool program for the 2026-2027 school year! After a recent interest survey, families in the community stressed a need to expand preschool programming in the district. Assistant Superintendent, Mika Ahlbrand, said “Families expressed interest in a structured, school-based early learning experience that aligns with Seymour Community Schools’ calendar, expectations, and commitment to student success.”
The Little Hoots Preschool Program will be offered to children turning 4-years-old by August 1, 2026. It will be located at Cortland Elementary, and anticipated enrollment is 20 students. It will follow the same schedule as other SCSC schools, and will even offer optional additional care depending on families schedules. Additionally, the program has free breakfast and lunch availability if needed.
Little Hoots will be tuition-based, with monthly payment options and staff discounts. The corporation’s goal is to be budget friendly, and they even reviews data to make sure the cost is affordable for all families in the community.
