Coming up on April 27 and 28th, Seymour Main Street will put on the Crossroads Acoustic Fest in downtown Seymour. The Crossroads Acoustic Fest is a concert where artists come and perform some of their songs. Some acoustic singers coming are Will Kimbrough, Levi Parham, Gabriel Kelly and many more. Tickets are thirty dollars and people can get them online or at the door, and all the performances will be held indoors.

The Seymour Main Street organization helps protect and plan for the historic downtown area in Seymour, Indiana. They help young people start businesses. In the past 5 years, they have had 25 new businesses added to downtown Seymour. Seymour Main Street installed 6 wayfinding signs last year on December 28th. These are signs that let people know where a restaurant will be or pointing to the city park.

The Seymour High School also got to participate in some of the events that happened earlier in the year with the Seymour Junior Main Street organization. They got set up with a storefront in the Community Center in downtown Seymour in November. They were in charge of running the store and coming up with a logo. Junior Kara Rice helped make necklaces and sell them in December. They also sold ornaments and other jewelry. “It was a cool thing to be a part of. I like seeing the different things our school came up with.” Seymour Main Street is trying to teach students what business is gonna be like and get them interested in their community.

Seymour Main Street has made downtown Seymour a place where people can come and have fun with their family and friends with the new pocket park that has been provided. Bike racks and park benches are in the process of being made as a 2018 addition. Also coming up soon, April 2nd, Mind-Full: A Wellness Program will have their weekly meeting and discuss how to be more healthy. The Seymour Main Street organization does it’s best to improve downtown Seymour and help the people be more stronger and healthier, as it has for the past 15 years.
