The basketball season is wrapping up, and it’s finally time for the sectional. Despite Seymour’s 10-11 record, the Owls are playing their best basketball lately, winning eight of their last eleven games. The Owls are getting hot at the right time. Let’s hope they can stay that way. Let’s take a look at who the Owls will be playing in the sectionals this year.
The Owls received a first-round bye in this year’s sectional, which will allow them to get a free scouting report on their opponent. That opponent will be the winner of the Jeffersonville vs Floyd Central first-round matchup.
The Jeffersonville Red Devils have a 9-12 record on the year (4-2 Conference). Jeffersonville defeated the Owls early in the season by a final score of 62-53.
The Floyd Central Highlanders have an 11-11 record on the year (2-4 Conference). Floyd Central was defeated by the Owls by a final score of 45-49 in January.
The Owls’ first game will take place on Friday, March 6th, at 6:00 PM. If/when Seymour wins, they will most likely face off against the New Albany Bulldogs in the Sectional championship.
It will take a collective effort from the players and the fans to win this sectional championship. Seymour fans need to show up and be loud.
Owls Will.
