On April 6th, the game many have waited for begins around 8:50. UConn versus Michigan is full of talent that will be played in our home state, Indianapolis, Indiana, at Lucas Oil Stadium. Each team has an Indiana connection. Michigan’s coach, Dusty May, is an Indiana native and a 2000 graduate of Indiana University, where he spent four years as a student manager for the men’s basketball team. UConn’s freshman guard Braylon Mullins was Indiana’s 2025 Mr. Basketball and a standout player for Greenfield Central. Both would love to capture a national championship in their home state.

On April 5th, the Michigan Wolverines defeated Arizona. The game wasn’t even close, ending with the final score of 91-73. The starting center for Michigan, Aday Mary, dropped 26 points and 9 rebounds, making him the star of the night. Following him in points was Elliot Cadeau, a 6 ‘1 guard coming out of West Orange, NJ, who had 13 points, 5 rebounds, and 10 assists. Those two alone are showing the Huskies that the championship won’t be easy to win. DraftKings opened with the Wolverines as 7.5-point favorites over the Huskies, though other sportsbooks opened the spread at Michigan -6.5.

Michigan’s opponent in the championship game is the #2 seed UConn. This team has talent all around the board, and that has been shown in all of their games, defeating Illinois 71-62. Guards Silas Demary Jr, Braylon Mullins, and Solo Ball contributed 7 points, 15 points, and 13 points, respectively. This team has talent. Not only did the guards put on a show, but the center, Tarris Reed Jr., also did. Reed led the team in rebounds and points with 17 points and 11 rebounds. As “One Shining Moment” blasts through the speakers, tonight will go down in history.  Many brackets will be ruined, but many faces will be smiling as the tournament ends, waiting patiently another year for the madness of March.
